“Assessing Teacher Learning in Time of AI”

The European Schoolnet Academy invites teacher trainers, administrators, and policymakers to its 6th annual thematic seminar, dedicated to the fast-evolving impact of generative of AI on teacher professional learning and its assessment. As tools like Copilot, ChatGPT, and Gemini reshape education, assessing teacher learning meaningfully and ethically becomes crucial, as traditional methods focusing only on end-products or content knowledge are increasingly inadequate.

This seminar will combine theoretical perspectives with practical insights. Participants will examine how AI is influencing what and how we assess teachers’ learning, explore approaches that capture authentic teacher development across varied contexts, and consider strategies that support reflective, responsible, and context-sensitive assessment. The session will conclude with a panel discussion featuring practitioners who have piloted innovative practices, offering concrete examples from the field.
